“I make paintings, sculptures and mixed media works through processes that allow for spiritual and subconscious influences. Sometimes these processes are in reflection of my lineage or personal dysfunction and sometimes they’re simply posing questions about life’s mysticisms. The resulting investigations of this are characterized by bold colors, surreal spaces and studied forms in large to small format figurative paintings, studied landscapes and nocturnes, conceptual three-dimensional pieces, drawings and writings. Through these works I’m highlighting the nuances of mental disruption, the resilience of the human spirit, and finding contentment in that which we cannot control. I hope the results of my makings inspire a greater awareness of self, connectivity and sense of empathy that places the viewer where perhaps they find a moment of stillness amidst the transience of existence.”
